Research

The Spine Research Institute has established a comprehensive research program devoted to improving the way spine and other musculoskeletal disorders are understood, prevented, and treated.

Our research philosophy is founded in the discovery of disorder causal pathways, which explain the complex system of factors and events that eventually lead to a musculoskeletal disorder.  An understanding of these pathways is the key to helping our industry partners prevent disorders from occuring in the workplace, as well as to helping our medical partners improve patient outcomes for those already suffering.

Given the complexity of disorder causal pathways, we find it critical to employ a multi-disciplinary systems engineering approach to understand how different factors interact and influence each other.  This approach has lead to a research focus in a variety of different areas that affect spine and other musculoskeletal disorders.
