Product Design

For many years companies have been collaborating with the Spine Research Institute to incorporate both physical and cognitive ergonomics into their product designs.  Our quantitative methods allow us to ensure that the resultant product design will optimize user experience, productivity, and safety, giving it a distinct competitive advantage in the marketplace.

A new cash register

Through a partnership with NCR, our team helped design the modern bioptic scanner for cashier registers.  The success of this design cut carpal tunnel syndrome injury rates by 90%, and resulted in a generous gift from NCR to build a new facility for the Biodynamics Laboratory.
