Injury prevention in aircraft maintenance
In 2007, many employees at an aircraft maintenance facility were developing upper extremity injuries during fuselage cleaning. The Spine Research Institute identified the risky tasks and exertions and implemented cost-effective job changes. Only one year later, shoulder injuries at this facility had fallen more than 40% as a result of the changes made.
